Case Studies
The Online Ethics Center has two case studies with additional commentaries that students may find useful. "With Bones in Contention: Repatriation of Human Remains" was written in 1997, and "Scientific Research and the Autonomy of Indigenous Peoples- The Case of the Kennewick Man" was written in 1998.
The 1996 Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl also had a case relating to NAGPRA, copyright Robert Ladenson, Center for the Study of Ethics at the Illinois Institute of Technology. It is accessible here.
Since 2004, the Society for American Archaeology has held an annual ethics bowl that graduate and undergraduate students compete in. Many years have one case relating to NAGPRA.
